Tal y como suena!!

Desde una conversación que tuve hace años con una amiga, siempre que tengo que coger un avión y tengo problemas de peso en mi equipaje pienso lo mismo de forma irónica: mi equipaje y yo juntos pesamos lo mismo que el señor  que se sienta a mi lado, o el de más alante... ¿¿así que por qué tengo yo que pagar por sobre peso y él no si a fin de cuentas el peso es peso, ya esté distribuido en mi barriga o en mi maleta?? Puede sonar discriminatorio... pero nosotras solo buscabamos la solución para salir ganando en este asunto. Aunque nosotras solo bromeábamos con en asunto, parece que alguien no bromea.

Every time I have to take a flight and I have luggage weight issues I ironically think about a discussion I had years ago with a friend: my luggage and me together are the same weight than the  men sitting closed to me, or the other men sitting a couple sits before me... so, why do I have to pay extra weight and he doesn´t if, there is the same amount of weight doesn´t matter were, in my belly or my suitcase??? The amount of fuel spent is the same!! It may seems discriminatory but we were just looking for a way to get out of this as cheapest as possible. Although we were just joking about this, it seems that some one does not.

Por un lado las chaquetas porta equipaje se están poniendo muy de moda. Unos chalecos donde puedes meter todo el equipaje que quieras y así no tener que facturar ni pesar nada... Es ciertamente incómodo, y ya suelo viajar con demasiadas cosas encima como para probarlo, pero hay numerosas opciones, y algunas no parecen estar mal. In one hand, the luggage-jackets are getting so fashionable. Some vests allow you to keep everything with you, so you don´t need to check in your suitcase... This is actually uncomfortable... I already travel with a lot of things so I wont try this... (too much for me) but there are so many options and some of it don´t look bad at all. Some here.

Por otro lado un académico noruego se ha hecho popular esta semana tras proponer seriamente imponer un sistema de vuelo por peso, en el que se ahorraría mucho ya que se ajustaría el combustible necesario al peso real transportado y en el que los pasajeros pagarían según su peso, pagando justamente por le combustible que se necesita para transportarlos. ¿Justo, injusto, discriminación, práctico, potenciador de problemas alimenticios, radical....? ¿Quién sabe? On the other hand, a Norwegain economist has become popular this week after purposing a "fat tax" flight system. In this system they will save a lot of money since the fuel will be adjusted to the real weight to transport and the passengers would have to pay per weight, paying a fair amount for the fuel they actually need to be transported. Fair, unfair, radical...? who knows? Maths talk and economy dictates


¿Quién sabe si dentro de unos años no tendré que pagar por el sobrepeso de mi maleta ya que ese sobrepeso equilibra mi peso con el de los señores más entraditos en carnes del avión? Lo que sí es seguro es que ya hay una compañía que cobra a sus pasajeros por peso. Samoa Air, una compañía que opera entre ciertas islas del pacífico como Samoa, Tonga, o la Polinesia Francesa, vende sus billetes al peso. En su website se encuetra una perfecta explicación de su politica de vuelo por kilo:

Efectivamente, si navegas un poco por la web encontrarás billetes al peso. El coste por kilo va desde 1 samoa tala (WST) a 4,5 WST por kilo o lo que es lo mismo, entre centimos de euros o 2 euros por kilo. Estas es una compañía muy pequeña con vuelos charter, pero ¿quién sabe si será el modelo a seguir el día de mañana? ¿Es una norma justa de viajar? Tal y como ellos afirman, pagas por lo que usas... ¿Qué te parece?
